Recap: BIG BROTHER 12 Week 3 Nomination Ceremony

BIG BROTHER 12

Another week and another HOH competition won on BIG BROTHER 12. Ragan, Matt and Andrew were the last three standing, and Ragan and Andrew made a deal not to nominate each other if the other had won. Matt, who at first seemed interested in the deal, didn’t confirm and said he wouldn’t be making any sort of arrangements. Matt has been gunning for Andrew since week 1, so I’m not surprised he avoided getting into a conversation to secure a safe spot for Andrew, especially one that if he had backtracked on would ruin his relationship with Ragan. Unfortunately, Andrew’s luck eventually ran out, leaving Ragan and Matt the last in the floating surfboard challenge. When the two of them were up there, they asked the rest of the house guests who were watching the seemingly insanely boring contest to leave the backyard for a few moments so they could chat.
Ragan agreed to not put Matt up on the block if he won, but was willing to give him HOH this week so he could see his wife, check in with his family and only as long as he had protection. And while Matt repeatedly said he could stand up there all day, he agreed to the deal. The house guests returned to their lame show, and Ragan took his sweet time to throw the challenge. The self-proclaimed diabolical super genius Matt was now the Head of Household. And this made a handful of folks sweat hardcore.

Matt gained a lot of respect from me tonight when he got his key to his HOH room. As he shouted to the house, “who wants to feign excitement at my HOH room,” I knew this dude was one to watch. Matt reads off a note from his wife, which discusses her recovery from an illness and having the family take care of her, all but confirming in everyone’s head, including Andrew’s, that Matt’s wife is indeed sick. Normally, I like the HOH room tours, but this season I feel like they last only a minute or two and never let you fully understand where the players come from. Am I the only who is feeling this way?

Anyways back to neurosis and panic attacks. Rachel and Brendon lost their minds with worry that they would both be put up on the block, thanks to their “pawn” nomination of Matt last week and their unnecessary house meeting calling him out in front of everyone. Rachel attempted to discuss with Matt what Brendon and her could bring to Matt’s game, but he hinted that not only does he have cause to nominate her, he knows she would get kicked out. The brigade wants the showman couple to be put up immediately, know it would help their game and wouldn’t make people suspicious of the possibility of an alliance. Matt also vocally ponders the relationship Hayden and Kristen are developing with the other brigade members, and notes they need to keep their eyes peeled for any showmance 2 style nonsense. But no worries, Hayden and Kristen aren’t going anywhere – just yet. Matt wants to nominate Kathy, mainly cause she tried to evict him last week, and because her game isn’t transparent to him. After a few weeks of this show, I really get sick of people in secret alliances throwing around the idea that people are bad to play a game in this house, but it wouldn’t be Big Brother without a lot of hypocrisy.

Kathy is fearful that show will be put up on the block for her vote last week, but she knows, as do we, she is no threat in this house. Rachel and Brendon do their butt kissing rounds once again and apologize to Matt for last week. In turn, Matt confirms he will not nominate either of them, because is a super diabolical genius or something and wants them on his side. This would be the easiest elimination ever and he’s passing it up? This is pretty darn suspicious. And if you were paying attention at the beginning of the episode, you’ll remember Matt wasn’t going to promise to save Andrew, so it’s not shocking when he told him he was going up. He gave Andrew some weird excuse, about being after each other and using him as a pawn, but come on. We all know that if Andrew goes up against Kathy that he will be going home. Kathy is not a real threat to anyone in the house and it would be silly to get rid of her for anyone’s game. Matt mumbles about backdooring someone, but really I don’t think he thought this thing through.

According to the live feeds, the POV competition has been played and the winner was…well you will have to wait till Wednesday for that information, but let’s just say it doesn’t help a lot of people out. So my question is, why is Matt playing it this way? Why, if you were able to, get rid of Rachel and Brendon unless you have made an alliance with them? And why get rid of people who aren’t threats to your game when you have oodles of competitors to remove? And lastly, ladies why are you not teaming up together from the first day and taking over this game? The fact that people like Enzo and Lane are still here, without deserving it pains me.

So what do you think about last night’s show? Do you consider it suspicious that Matt is now not nominating the two people who threw him under the bus last week and possibly could have ended his game way too early? And when will Andrew air his supposed, and yet not true, dirt on Matt?
