Recap: BIG BROTHER 12 Week 2 Live Eviction/ Week 3 HoH Competition

BIG BROTHER 12

When we left the house guests in the BIG BROTHER 12 house, they seemed to all be eager to get rid of Monet, but with no real reason. During the POV ceremony, Rachel even went as far as to let everyone know that Matt was a pawn, which I still think was one of the silliest moves this girl has made so far and we’ve only been here for two weeks folks. This declaration beat Monet down even more and sadly, I don’t think she could recover. But that wasn’t going to stop Brittany from messing things up. Matt made it a point to discuss the nomination with Monet and Brittany and for some reason made it seem that he was completely sidelined by it, which in his head made him look sympathetic to these two ladies, and to thwart any ideas in their heads of campaigning against him. Poolside, Kristen starts yelling at Brittany because of some rumor she was told that she would be voting against Matt in this week’s eviction. This incites a little verbal rumble outside between Kristen and now, Monet about how Matt deserves to stay. And for some reason Brendon and Rachel once again open up their mouthes and insert both of their feet by interjecting a slew of reasons why they put up Monet. Its pretty crazy to repeatedly watch two individuals squander any chance of sticking around in the Big Brother house. Their confrontation with Monet just proves these people, while possibly book smart, have no understanding of what it takes to NOT make enemies in this house.

Brittany, now fearful her bestie will surely be evicted, chats with Rachel about the conversation she and Monet had earlier with Matt. Rachel believes this confirms her suspicion about Matt, which is the only thing she has been right about so far, and decides to call a house meeting to essentially call out Matt. And it gets worse. Rachel lambasts him in front of everyone, except for Andrew who was observing a Jewish holiday, for playing both sides. Obviously, she doesn’t get the point of Big Brother. Matt continues to say that he didn’t think she was actually going to him up on the block as a pawn, and said he felt “forced” into agreeing to in the first place. He also mentioned Rachel originally wanted Andrew to go up, because of Brittany. Matt does his best to avoid making this a bigger issue, continues to deny any alliances and the Brigade remains safe for another day. Julie Chen, the lovely host of all things live on Big Brother, chats with the house guests about a handful of scenes shot throughout the week and then discusses with Rachel her feelings on the two nominees. Matt and Monet give their pleas to the rest of the house guests and its seems that even though Matt flaunted himself everywhere this week, he will live to see another week in the house. And with a vote of 7 – 2, Monet was the second guest to get the heave ho. Kathy and Brittany were the only ones who voted for Matt, and seemed really sad to see Monet leave.

Monet immediately grabbed her bags and headed out the door to chat with Julie in front of the live audience, once again with tears in her eyes. Monet knew that the $10K she won in the first challenge was going to bite her in the butt, just not this early. She also believes that Matt will come after Rachel and Brendon, if given the chance. And from the videotaped message from the house guests, Monet really didn’t play a good game, or any game at all during her time the house. The remaining guests went out into the yard to get their Head of Household competition one, which this week had them surfing in the rain. When the CBS televised episode ended, no one had been eliminated yet, but from the live feeds we know that it came down to Ragan, Andrew and Matt. After 94 minutes of play, Andrew slipped off his board, leaving friends Ragan and Matt up. The two decided to let Matt win, and discussed who should be put on the block. Obviously, Ragan secured his safety and Matt is now the new Head of Household. And if I was a betting woman, something tells me that Rachel and Brendon need to be watching their backs. I’ve said it before, but how great is it how quick this show can turn around week to week. Matt could have gone home and now he’s HOH, much like Rachel last week.

If you were Matt, who would you put on the block? And do you think it was a smart move by Ragan to give up on HOH? Also, why must the producers make these folks get soaking wet all the time?

We can’t say we didn’t see this week’s eviction coming.
