Allison Mack is bidding farewell to SMALLVILLE according to Michael Ausiello.

Allison Mack has chosen not to return as a regular for the 10th and final season of Smallville. However, her character Chloe will not be abruptly disappearing from the show. While she will not appear regularly on the series as she did during the first nine seasons, Allison Mack has decided to make several guest appearances during the final season to tie up the story of Chloe on Smallville.

In her statement, Allison Mack stated that she decided to return in a guest role for a handful of episodes out of respect for fans of the show. After playing Chloe for a third of her lifetime, the actress felt an obligation to provide the show’s fans with a sense of closure for her character.

    I can honestly say I will not miss her at all. Allison’s great, but her character is known throughout the fandom as one of the worst characters on Smallville ever- we’ve been waiting for her to leave for years!

    Chloe Sullivan ala Allison Mack is the heart of Smallville.
    Sad that Mack is leaving but it is very strange that After 9 yrs she is..I think that Mack had no intention of leaving till the end of Smallville.I think that the People in Charge of Smallville did not want to give her a contract.
    last year they signed Tom and Erica with a contract leading into the 10th Season,If they got one and Not Mack.
    I think that Mack in being squeezed out as did KK and Johnathan,Lionel,Martha…Pete..The list goes on.
    The Original concept of the show is gone..Lost..Thrown away..It is very sad..

    Allison is the leading actress of the series..2nd in credit to Tom Welling as it should be…
    I don’t know what the PTB are thinking..This is one of the most creative and loved characters ever!!
    Lois fans are just upset that AM gets more time..Better lines..More time with Clark than Lois does in the show..
    They bitch..they whine..They gripe..Whatever..
    The ratings have fallen..So much for Clark and Lois S9..A utter and total failure..
    With the departing of AM or rather, the letting go of AM as i see it..Call it what you will you make it look better or sound better.
    Smallville will never be the same.. Hell even Tom knows this..Right on the heels of AM dismal..Comes Tom Welling Calling it Quitsville To another Season.I can’t blame the man..
    The bright and shining light that is AM has been extinguished and given only a handful amt of epis to wrap up her character..Unbelievable..
    Thank goodness for Tom in retaliation said I am out..Season 10 is the last..
    No Tom..No Mack= No Smallville

    Chloe was the glue that held the show together. This stinks. I was already tired of Smallville and this was the last nail in the coffin. I will follow Allison Mack’s career but I am giving up on Smallville now.
