24 “Day 8: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM” (Series Finale) Review

24 series finale (6)

Can you believe it was nine years ago, when we discovered the very first season of 24? And what a season it was! Its format was and continues to be one of the most original on television. And tonight it all comes to an end with the conclusion of Day 8 in the two-hour finale starting at 8pm on FOX.

The question on everyone’s mind is probably whether or not Jack Bauer will survive his final day, but unfortunately that’s not something that I can divulge. However, I can say that there are going to be some more murders and even a suicide; the President will make a few decision that might surprise you (she goes a little crazy herself at some point); Eriq La Salle makes an appearance as the UN Secretary-General; and Jack, well I guess you could say his fate is at some point in Chloe’s hands. A typical 24 day.

You won’t be surprised when I say that the last two episodes continue to captivate us the same way the whole season 8 did. You will be on the edge of your seat for the last two hours.

Overall these last two episodes are what we have come to expect from a 24. As for the end, well it’s emotional and final, and I think the writers gave the fans a satisfying ending (at least I was satisfied). Although I won’t lie, I will miss 24, where will I get my dose of adrenaline now?!

It really feels like the end of an era for me and I’m sure for many people as well. I have been a fan of 24 since day one and have remained loyal through all eight seasons. And I would like to say a big thank you to the writers for continually raising the bar and to everyone involved in the show for keeping us entertained all these years. 24 will be missed!
