Season 2 of UNITED STATES OF TARA premieres tonight, March 22, and I got a chance to take an early look at a few episodes.
When the second season opens, Tara hasn’t transitioned in several month and the family is doing very well and adapting to this new normal life. Unfortunately, as you probably guessed, things won’t stay this nice for very long. In the first episode, the Gregsons’ neighbor commits suicide and Tara and her family are given the responsibility of looking after the house. This leads to a series of event that will have Tara transition to… well you’ll have to tune in to find out who. And that’s of course only the beginning.
Max will have to deal with readjusting to a life with Tara’s other personalities. Even worse, this season, we’re also going to meet a new personality, Shoshanna Schoenbaum, Tara’s therapist. Things get serious between Charmaine and Nick this season, which hopefully means that her bad luck in love is over. Kate graduates early and gets a job at a collections agency, through which she meets some interesting people. And Marshall continues to explore his sexuality.
This new season also introduces a new character, Pammy (Joey Lauren Adams), who falls in love with “Buck.” This leads to a very unusual love triangle.
I am really loving this new season. The writers continue to deliver great storylines and create interesting situations for the characters to deal with.
If you enjoyed season one, then you’ll be very happy with season two. Toni Collette continues to be brilliant as she creates these amazing characters. And of course, the rest of the cast is great as well. This season I am especially loving John Corbett. I just love the character of Max, you just have to admire his patience and love for his wife and family.
And so, do I even need to say it again? Whether you are a fan of the show or haven’t seen it yet, you won’t want to miss the season 2 premiere of United States of Tara tonight, Monday March 22 at 10:30pm on Showtime.
