Showtime’s original series, NURSE JACKIE, returns tonight, March 22, for an all-new season. I got a chance to take a look at a few episodes from season two and I was reminded why I love this show so much.
After watching one episode I was hooked once again and was compelled to watch the second episode, and the third, and … you get the idea.
The first episode, “Comfort Food,” takes place a few months after Jackie’s confrontation with Eddie at the end of last season. Jackie has now cut ties (or at least tried to) with Eddie. Jackie also continues to cover up her family life. Unfortunately, Eddie soon finds a way to get Jackie’s attention.
And that’s only the first episode. This new season will for sure please fans of the show. Jackie continually finds new inventive ways to get her fix without getting caught by the new electronic system put into place. Eddie, who’s still not over Jackie, continues his friendship with Kevin, which should give you a hint as to where this season is going. Dr. Cooper is still… well Dr. Cooper (how much do I love Peter Facinelli?!). Dr. O’Hara continues to be Jackie’s confidante. And of course, my favorite, Zoey, continues to be adorable and hilarious. In addition, this season we get a new regular character, Sam, whom we met last season (he was fired by Jackie for being high on drugs at work, oh the irony!). It’s a season you don’t want to miss!
Edie Falco is just absolutely brilliant as Jackie, but if you have seen the first season, then you already know this. But that’s not all, the cast is as incredible. Each character continues to surprise me and makes the show so much fun to watch.
As for the writing, well, I don’t need to tell you how good it is. It continues to hold the same high standard as season one, which should give you an idea of how good Season 2 is going to be.
So don’t miss the season 2 premiere of Nurse Jackie tonight, Monday March 22, at 10pm on Showtime.
