Tonight’s LOST “Dr. Linus” was another confusing episode in the race to the series finale that is supposed to answer all (can you tell I’m getting a little frustrated?).
Let’s be honest here, was the episode good? Yes, absolutely. Is it an episode you would expect when there are only 10 left to answer the mystery that is Lost? Not really. Am I still a fan? Yes, to the end!!!
Now that I have gotten my frustration out, let’s talk about what I did love about the episode. It was so much fun to see what Ben would have become had he not stayed on the island, and turns out that he is a much better person than he ever was on the island. Even better, he is a mentor to Alex, who obviously was raised by Rousseau. And can I just say that even though I don’t understand what this parallel story is all about, I am loving every moment of it. It’s like rediscovering all the characters we have come to love, but in a totally new environment. What other show could do that?
But as a Lost fan, one of the most interesting things is of course what is happening on the island. Well, this episode didn’t really focus on evil Locke and his group, so we still don’t know what in the world is going on with that. What we do know is that Ben finally made the right decision to stay with the “good” people.
Other than that, I loved the scene between Richard and Jack, I mean that was some leap of faith, oh and yeah we finally found out how Richard got his immortality, from Jacob touching him. So my question is, does Jacob only need to touch you for you to become immortal, or does he have to want to make you immortal as he touches you or something like that to make it work? If it’s the first one, it almost makes me want to go back and find out who Jacob touched.
Oh and here’s another thing we found out. The candidates are candidates to replace Jacob, which I guess I sort of had figured out, so it wasn’t as big a shock. But the question remains, why wasn’t Kate on that list? And we still don’t know if Jin or Sun is the candidate.
And speaking of Jin, where in the world is he? The last time we saw him, he was with crazy Claire, but it seems like he never showed up to the temple, so what happened in between? It seems that Sun and him keep missing each other. Will they ever reunite?
Finally, the big episode cliffhanger is Widmore showing up in a submarine!!! Could this be a game changer and will it hurt Jacob’s plans even more than evil Locke could?
So here are my questions for you, do you think Jin or Sun is the candidate? And out of all the six remaining candidates, who would be your pick to replace Jacob? Share your thoughts in the comments.
