I was shocked to see all of the employees @Job # 3 NOT using gloves to prepare the hamburgers. I’m sure that must of been one of those procedures not being done by all, management included. I know I will not eat at another White Castle in my travels.

the gloves are not as important as washing your hands. If you wear the gloves all day and don’t change them..how sanitary is that?

      • Info

Not true. Health mandates washing hands then putting on gloves.GlObe pair of gloves should not be worn all day. They get changed after touching face, switching stations and after breaks.

well, I have been in the restaurant business for many years. Gm for ChiChi’s Gm for Monterey house ,manager for Denny’s, Burger King, owner of 3 of my own. I was touched by this show.I think you handled it awesome. You rewarded those that deserved it and gave warning to those that slacked off.I appreciate the fact that you humbled yourself by sleeping in that awesome hotel LOL.I haven’t worked in the biz for several years but I would be honored to work for you… very impressed.

    Thanks

Wow what a generous guy he gave that guy 5000.00 he was the best I’ve ever seen in any fast food restaurant he should be ashamed his wife most probably spends more on her hair cut. He should of set that man’s boy up for life CHEAP PRICK that’s not even tip money for him and had the audacity to make a big deal out of it.Creep

1 more note..I give you credit for restraint. If I had a team player that sat back and didn’t play? That would be bye bye.. no second chance. I have worked as many as 16 hours a day to make sure things are right.I have ran from the kitchen to the front to the dish area and back. My 2 rules are..1.. If you have time to lean.. you have time to clean.#2.. is a rule QSC.. quality, cleanliness and service.well again thanks for the show!!

Of course hand washing is very important, but that alone does not protect the public form any infectious diseases that a worker may be unknowingly transferring into food (such as Hepatitis or organisms such as Ecoli under nail beds). Public Health Code EXPLICITLY spells out that hand washing and donning gloves is a MANDATORY. Dave, you best go back to the procedure book and enhance your employee training. I will never eat at White Castle.

I think that this has turned out to be a publicity stunt gone way bad. All this cost you was two $5,000 scholarships and in doing so you exposed multiple problems within your organization.
      1) Hand washing was a blatant violation that even a child would have been able to see.
      2) You failed to correct the employee who showed how corporate liked things done but how “we” in the trenches really get things done.
      3) The factory supervisor yes’ed you to death. You could see how the other employee reacted when you just slapped her on the wrist and suggested they work together. Any body with any management experience could see this was the wrong person for the position.
      4) You are reevaluating the 24 hour hours of operation but it seems your late night time period is your busiest time period. Take some of your employees from over staffed new store and put them on the over night shift.
Sorry Dave, I’d love to give you more examples but I have my own business to run and I don’t have national T.V. to help me.
      Good luck.
