SINS OF THE MOTHER – Lifetime Movie Starring Jill Scott

Watch a sneak peek of SINS OF THE MOTHER, a new lifetime movie airing Sunday, February 21, 2010, at 8pm ET/5pm PT, on Lifetime Movie Network. The movie stars Jill Scott, Nicole Beharie (American Violet) and Mimi Rogers (The Door in the Floor).

Sins of the Mother Movie Synopsis: Graduate student Shay Hunter (Beharie) reaches a crossroad in her life when she finds herself broke, burned out and unable to cope with the stress of school. With nowhere else to go, she embarks on a journey home to Tacoma, Washington, to face her abusive, alcoholic, estranged mother, Nona (Scott). When she returns home, Shay finds Nona living life as a recovered alcoholic, with a new daughter and completely transformed. Thrown by her mother’s new path, Shay must now accept Nona’s changes and influences, including her sponsor Lois (Rogers) — all forcing Shay to move past her pent-up anger and awaken her own relationships.

I just finish watching Sins of the Mother. Jill Scott did an excellent performance. I enjoyed the story line. Everyone did a great job. I would love to see more of her. Keep up the good work Jill

Jill Scott was introduced to me as a Private Investigator, she was beliveable and I miss the episodes.
Now awesome in “Sins of the Mother”. I’ve lived the life of a child surrounded by alcohol, its anger and violence in the subburbs with both parents. I’m proud of Nona’s recovery.
I never had the degree of anger that Shay had, but I felt the same fear as a child.
Strength and Forgiveness, great message.

This was a great, true to life movie. I know two famiies very close up and personal that this movie could have been about. It was so refreshing, as a Christian, to see something so real in all of our lives. We all fall down…..we all need each other…..and it is always in our ablity to get back up and move ahead.

Oh my goodness this was a great performance by Jill Scott, Nicole Beharie, I wish this could be a new seris or a follow-up story it was so fresh and something to see other than reality TV…Nicole is new for me has she done any other movies…all the performers were great!!! but Jill & Nicole did a outstanding job. any chance of a follow-up story on what happens with Shay & Oliver? Well I just read the other comments we all want to see more, please let us know!

I am not an avid (male) Lifetime Channel viewer, but I was told to check out this movie last night and I was glad I did. I have all of Jill Scotts’ cd’s. She has a powerful voice, positive messages and her acting abilities have been taking off. I have never personally dealt with alcoholism first hand, but i know families that have torn aprt by it. Its an ugly scar for some. I really loved the script and the performances. The only scene that was really schocking was the scene in the church, if that was me I would have been on the floor recoving, ha ha. great movie and hope to see many more from Lifetime!

I watched Sins of The Mother and was extremely touched by the subject content as well as the acting ability of the cast. This movie is GREAT, to say the least! Kudos to Jill Scott and the entire cast. I loved, loved, loved this movie. I agree with Kim…Jill Scott should appear in film more often. I also would like to see a possible Part 2 to this movie. Great work, ladies!

I loved the Movie Sins of the Mother. I can relate to it but time does heal. I would like to know if anyone one out there knows the song Oliver gave Jill Scott to played in her car as she drove away. It was a female artis and some of the lyrics go like this, “do do do do do do do do do do do do. repete, My reaction was to slow, should have never let you go, but I let you walk away befoe I had a chance to say.I really want you, I really need you, you know I’m not going any where till I got you babe , I really love you, can’t get enough of you,I’m not leaving till you still have me back again.When I see you I close my eyes.

Watched this movie last night. Jill did an excellent job. My only gripe was that she was too young to have a 25 yo daughter.
