New CBS TV Show: MIAMI MEDICAL First Look

MIAMI MEDICAL

Check out some photos of a new CBS TV show MIAMI MEDICAL which premieres Spring 2010 on the CBS Television Network. Could this be the new ER?

From CBS: MIAMI MEDICAL is about a team of expert surgeons who shine brightest under the adrenaline rush of working on the edge. As part of the Alpha Team at one of the premiere trauma facilities in the country, these professionals exclusively treat patients with life threatening injuries. Dr. Matthew Proctor is new to the trauma team, after leaving a lucrative private practice following his return from a tour of duty in a MASH unit during the first Gulf War. Dr. Eva Zambrano is a workaholic surgeon who wishes she had more time for a personal life. Dr. Christopher Deleo, “Dr. C.,” is a playboy who thrives on the high-stakes of trauma medicine and is, by his own description, a genius cowboy. Dr. Serena Warren is fresh out of medical school and is quickly learning the meaning of trial by fire. Although the glue that keeps the team together is head nurse Tuck Brody, who balances the needs of the doctors and their patients’ families in this chaotic corner of the medical profession. Together, this team of doctors excels in the “golden hour,” the 60 minutes after being critically injured, when a patient’s life hangs in the balance. (From CBS)

I have seen the new promo for the show Miami Medical – it looks great and i am so happy they chose JD Fortune’s solo work, One More Day as the music for the promo – it should be the theme song too. Hoping the show rocks!

Are you guys serious? If you’re going to pretend to be a medical show, at least try to get your information correct! I love to watch any kind of medical program, so I thought I would tune in to your show. I watched the episode that opens with a waitress that was having some sort of diabetic reaction. I was furious when I saw the first 5 minutes!!! My son is 16 years old, he has had diabetes since he was 3, so I think I know more than most about diabetes, (I am also a certified medical assistant). Your people got it so wrong! When a person with type 1 diabetes is having a reaction, you can bet it is a LOW blood sugar problem, not high blood sugar! It takes days or even weeks to have any visible effects from high blood sugar; those side effects include; severe fatigue, extreme thirst, frequent urination, and rapid weight loss; NOT a little dizziness or sideways vision! Are you kidding? It is not only irresponsible but potentially fatal for someone to administer insulin to a diabetic who is having a low blood sugar reaction, it would kill them! You ALWAYS treat for low blood sugar, with any kind of sugar you can get into them! Please don’t ever produce another show without doing some serious research; my son, and 18 million others (living with diabetes) lives depend on it!!!!! Unfortunately most people believe, if it is on TV, it must be true. I send my son out into the world every day with the hope that if he has a low blood sugar reaction or seizure, and is at the mercy of a stranger, that stranger gives him SUGAR or JUICE, rather than injecting him with the insulin that my son carries with him. I hope to God that stranger has NOT been watching your show.

COME ON PEOPLE IT IS A DAMN SHOW, YOU JUST NEED TO DO YOUR JOB AND INFORM YOUR KIDS THAT IT IS A T.V. SHOW AND THEY SHOULD NOT TAKE ANY INFORMATION THAT HE GET FROM THAT T..V SHOW REGARDING THERE MEDICAL CONDITION AS LIABLE INFORMATION BECAUSE ITS NOT CORRECT INFO. IF YOU ARE THAT MUCH WORRIED ABOUT IT THEN, YOU SHOULD WRITE THE SHOW AND INFORM THEM OF YOUR CONCERNS AND ASK THEM TO ATLEAST GET THE FACTS ABOUT A MEDICAL CONDIDTION THAT THEY ARE PLANNING TO AIR. THAT WOULD BE THE MOST RESPONSIBLE TO DO..

I sit here watching tonights episode I must say I am very impressed. The “broken heart syndrome” story line is incredible. As a cath lab tech, I called it before your doctor diagnosed it on the show. I have seen this recently and must say that the physicians that diagnosed that case were just as surprised as your doctors.

Kudos to your staff on this one!!!
