DOCTOR WHO Season 5 Preview with Matt Smith

Doctor Who Season 5

Check out the brand new preview for Season 5 of DOCTOR WHO which now stars the eleventh Doctor portrayed by Matt Smith.

Even though I’m still mourning the fact that there won’t be anymore episodes of Doctor Who with David Tennant, I think the preview for the new season of Doctor Who looks pretty great and I have very high hopes for Matt Smith. But I am even more excited to see what new showrunner Steven Moffat has in store for us. Without a doubt he has written some of the best Doctor Who episodes (“The Girl in the Fireplace,” “Blink,” “The Empty Child,” “The Doctor Dances,” “Silence in the Library,” “Forest of the Dead,” and more), and I’m really looking forward to finding out in which direction he will steer the new season.

In the preview we also get our first look at the Doctor’s new companion Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan, whom I have a feeling I’m going to like.

But don’t take my word for it, check out the new preview for Doctor Who season 5 below. If you pay attention, around 19 seconds into it, could we be seeing the new revamped TARDIS? (I attached a screenshot below).

That’s not the “new” Tardis. It’s the underside of the existing Tardis console room floor. Given the way the last episode ended, this is probably some scene from early on in the first episode when the Doctor is repairing the ship, I would guess.

That is very possible. I am curious to see how different the “new” TARDIS is though.

This looks amazing! Honestly, although I love Steven Moffat’s work, I hadn’t really had high expectations of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. The last few minutes of The End of Time Part Two and this Preview have really gotten me excited about the upcoming season. Wish they’d tell us the air dates – I can’t wait!

This seems awesome! I’m a somewhat new Doctor Who follower (from Christopher Eccleston to this guy) and I hope this guy does well, David Tennant will be a tough act to follow.

interesting,I thought Tennent played the Doctor very well, but pushed the boundaries of whats “in character” by being a bit more flirty with companions(who has he NOT kissed?but he never overstepped it so it still works)Smiths already seems to be pushing a few boundaries on the definition of “pacifist”,but I don’t think Moffat will overstep that in a script(if we were going to have an all out fighting Doctor, would he be dressed like an old fashioned school teacher with a calm face?besides,if anything gets too violent we still have Jack to call on)I can’t wait!

The new Dr Who kind of creeps me out. The first word that came to mind was ‘rapist’, but thats just me. :P
