CALIFORNICATION “Wish You Were Here” Early Review (Season 3 Premiere)

CALIFORNICATION (Season 3)

I want to give a huge thanks to Showtime for letting me review an early episode of CALIFORNICATION. You made this Hank Moody fan very happy! Season 3 doesn’t premier until Sunday September 27th at 10:00 pm, so let me give you the low down (or down low if you were born after 1985) on the first episode of Season 3, “Wish You Were Here.”

So as you recall, Season 2 ended with Karen moving to New York to take a job and Hank and Becca staying back in Cali. At the same time, Charlie and Marcy (Cokey Smurf) are about to embark in a nasty divorce.

Season 3 starts with Hank doing his best at raising Becca solo, which proves to be tough as Becca is now in her rebellious teens. Charlie Runkle gets a new job working at a small talent agency that is run by the sexual harassing Sue Collini (played by the hilarious Kathleen Turner). Since money is tight, Charlie decides to move back in with the scorned Marcy, but just as roommates. I can’t WAIT to see how this turns out.

If you were a fan of Season 2 and are wondering how Season 3 is going to stack up, I can tell you there is a dinner party scene in this episode that is even better and more awkward than the one from last season. I’m talking some serious drunken, male frontal awkwardness. If you thought this show could shock and horrify, you aint seen nothing yet. Californication is one of the best shows on television, and if you’re a fan like me, it’s time to get excited for season 3!

I am wondering if there will be some new cool electronic music in Season 3 too.

  • what are you, 12?

a child can make such a @review@ the point is not actually writing 1st series up but providing general sense of what we should expect – is there any significant changes of hank type, who are new actors and so on/

To the comment above me, huh? If you’re trying to insult someone, at least try and make your English clearer.

Anyway, I’m SO looking forward to this season and I cannot WAIT to see the season 3 premiere. I’m so jealous that you got to see it! GRRRR! But thanks for the review! :)

Hey “What are you 12″? I might ask you the same question lol. However, I will try to address your concerns the best I can. As far as what you can except in the new season, try re-reading the third paragraph of my review.

The second thing you wanted to know is if there are any new actors in season 3. Again, come on dude, did you not see paragraph 3? Kathleen Turner? The answer is yes, there are several guest star appearances. The 1st episode also features Peter Gallagher and I believe he’s going to be in at least 2 more episodes in Season 3.
