Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard in TRUE BLOOD “Frenzy” Episode

Stephen Moyer and Evan Rachel Wood

Stephen Moyer and Evan Rachel Wood

Here is a first look at Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard in the upcoming TRUE BLOOD “Frenzy” Episode Season 2 Episode 11 airing this Sunday August 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on HBO. Thanks to trueblood-online.com for posting the pictures.

In “Frenzy”, Bill (Stephen Moyer) is requesting the help of Sophie-Anne played by Evan Rachel Wood, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana, but he must be patient with her as we can see in the picture above. Loungin at the pool is an exercise in patience indeed.

Eric on the other hand is suiting up for a conversation we are not privy too. I know some people are rooting for Eric and Sookie to hook up but I just don’t see it. The chemistry is not really apparent to me.

I really am impatient to see how this whole thing will turn out Sunday. I have not read the books so I have no clue on where this is going. In the meantime, you can go check out more pictures of TRUE BLOOD “Frenzy” Episode at trueblood-online.com.

Yeah, love both vampires. Talk about having your cake and eating it too. But, I gotta agree with you. Eric is HOT. Sookie is HOT. I just don’t see them being HOT together. Their chemistry to me so far is just seeing two attractive people together. I don’t really see any sparks between them. Maybe Eric should give Pam another look?

  • Virginia

You’d understand the Eric/Sookie goodness if you’d read the books. READ THE BOOKS PEOPLE!

  • cathy

I’ve read the book Virginia, never got Eric and I’ve read them all and get sick of people saying that. I’m always like what the heck are you reading that i’m not, but anyhoo, a book has nothing to do with it this is up to the actors, and to me i don’t see anything going on between AP and AS, just that both are hot thats it.

  • MarleneEmmett

If you notice carefully, Alexander’s in a pose from his modeling days!!
The pose is a very professional one~and very sexy.

  • Sanna

Virgina, just because you read the books doesn’t mean you will understand Eric/Sookie better. This is not the books! When will people get that..?? If people don’t see the chemistry and spark in the show(where it should be easier to spot spark and chemistry because it’s TV) they don’t see it in the books either. Not everyone loves Eric *Gasp* And I’m with Cathy, I’m also SICK of people saying “Oh, if you just read the books, you will love them!” Um….no.

I find Alex and Anna pretty uncomfortable in their scenes. Stephen and Anna is comfortable and they have a connection, they are in a sync.

  • HellzBellz

Plenty of people see the chemistry between Sookie and Eric (Alexander and Anna). I read it everywhere. Just because you are a Bill/Sookie fan doesnt mean there isnt also chemistry with the other too. Personally I think it is there with all three of them. It’s fun to watch. Complaining sounds like denial and reeks of desperation.

  • nikka

I see the chemistry starting from episode 2×03. It’s okay that sookie is not comfortable with Eric yet. He did say that she would not always be afraid of him (book 3 and I hope they include that conversation). The hard thing with the show is that they don’t include much of sookie’s thoughts and she really think Eric is hot!

  • kate

I agree i dont see the same chemestry with sookie and eric that i see with sookie and bill i unno maybe its cuz there engaged in real life that people see it more but just to clarify if people are looking for the same plots in the show from the books u wont find them becuz and i qoute miss anna paquin recently said to Eonline ” According to Anna, now that it is no longer true to the plot of the books, Charlaine loves the suspense when she watches the show ” soo its aparent alan ball is taken it to a whole new level so who knows whats gunna happen and like alex or stephen said cant remember witch one but one of them said only about 5% of the viewers are fans from the book just saying

  • http://danitime.blogspot.com/ Dani

I would agree that even if you have read the books or are rooting for Eric & Sookie (like myself), that doesn’t necessarily mean that the two actors on the screen can pull off the chemistry. However, I am wondering if Alan Ball is trying to make it awkward and not as chemistry filled as we would like it to reflect the newness to Sookie and the kind of revulsion as the TV Sookie sees Eric as nothing but a mean bully. Also, I think the “love” scenes we have seen them with will not reflect anything that really happens because they are just dreams and probably one sided (meaning Sookie’s romanticized version of what she thinks it would be like to be with Eric) instead of how it really would be. I am excited to see how that, and all of the other plot lines, come alive on the screen. Whichever ones Alan Ball chooses to explore.

One thing I have to give credit to Alan Ball for is that he keeps us all guessing, even those that have read the books. Not an easy task.

  • Amanda

How can you not see the chemistry between Sookie and Eric? They are so hot together…I think their chemistry is the heart of the show! I can’t wait until they really have lots of hot sex together! I think Bill is boring and is doing nothing for Sookie. Put Sookie and Eric together!!!

  • My Lover

Are you kidding me?! Did you watch Episode 9??!! There’s chemistry there; unfortunately because Anna Paquin has zero appeal, Alex is having to give enough chemistry for the both of them! I do admit she looks better and does a much better job acting in the dream scenes with Eric—but then she appears with Bill, and all good acting goes right out the window!! Eric has to be the pivotal character now for True Blood, or its curtains for that show! Truth is truth—actors either give everything they have (Alex) or do it for just a paycheck (Anna). Just saying……….

  • debra

Eric’s character in the books and the series shows he’s a vamp that has to be in control–period. Emotions require giving up part of yourself, so I think Eric will be his snarky self and regret that Sookie saw his breakdown with Goddric. It’s a Lust/Hate “chemistry thing” for most of the books. It’s an attraction they can’t stop, but would if they could. Bill is one of the few that freely admits the love of a human.

  • Carol

HellzBellz no one’s fighting here. It’s just everyone’s differing views and opinions. I don’t think someone not seeing chemistry between two actors is desperation. That seems a tad too much of a personal response. People often times pick their horse and they stick with it. Can’t fault them for that. I think Sookie is projecting in the dream sequences and maybe the reason some of us are not seeing the chemistry is because that really isn’t Eric. That’s not to say that it won’t develop. Like someone mentioned maybe they are seeking to show something else with the two characters right now. I really have decided not to read the books because right now I love both Eric and Bill. Maybe Bill a bit more because I go more for the tortured soul over the bad boy but I would hate to have to pick one. And it’s not the end all be all on who ends up with Sookie. I think Alan Ball has shown there is more to the story than who wins the heart of Ms. Stackhouse. Guess that’s why they decided to do the show as an ensemble and not from her pov.

  • Lynette

    Very interesting point Debra!

  • Trish

I love how Eric fans call Bill fans “desperate”. LOL! Eric fans are so desperate to have him and Sookie together that they don’t care if there’s any chemistry between the actors or not. Why be so demanding? Why not just watch the show and enjoy it for what it is..entertainment. Alan Ball is a genius who has created a huge hit in True Blood. With Bill/Stephen and Sookie/Anna as ‘lead characters/actors’, I might add.
Whoever said that the show would sink unless Eric is made the center of it should listen to Alan Ball himself who said that Sookie and Bill are the heart and soul of the show. The show is a monster hit without Eric being the main focus. It will continue to be IMO until Alan Ball decides to end it.

  • Que

I disagree with the comment that eric and sookie do not have chemistry. I think that whenever they’re in the same room, they’re just drawn to each other. In the 1st season, I admit that I loved Sookie and Bill together, but in this 2nd season, they’ve grown boring and sorta old fashion. For me, this season has improved 90% because of the increased Eric scenes. Bill and Sookie are the past, Eric and sookie are the future. But everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

Poor Alex, good acting, is it as good as Lafayette scenes and amazing memorables quotes. It’s to do with Anna and Stephen break throught and if we have to follow the books:

Why is Godric not portray as in books, Rene not still alive, Lorena not dead, Hugo not dead, Tara white…

Come why do the directors have follow Eric as in the book but not everyone else.

This has got to be the worst motherfuckin’ intervention in history.

  • Eric

Folks, first let me thank you for all these comments. Healthy debate is always a good thing. While I appreciate everyone’s POV on the matter, I am still unconvinced that Eric and Sookie (The characters, NOT the actors) have any chemistry whatsoever.

The latest scenes depicting Eric and Sookie in intimate moments rang false to me since we know that whatever Sookie feels for Eric is most likely induced by the consumption of his blood.

If you really think about it, Eric gave her the vampire version of a rufee. I know that some of you might object to the comparison but it’s what I think.

Nevertheless, I am willing to be convinced otherwise and maybe the last two episodes will do just that

  • http://danitime.blogspot.com/ Dani

    Eric:

The only thing that bothers me about saying that Sookie’s feelings for Eric are induced by the consumption of his blood is that the same could be said about Bill. Maybe more like ehanced, rather than induced. Sookie has had Bill’s blood a number of times. Yet, Bill never told Sookie that she might have sexual dreams or an inhanced feeling for him.

  • Lynette

Dani – Bill first gave his blood to Sookie to save her life. Eric tricked Sookie into consuming his. To go with Eric’s analogy if you slip someone a rufee does it matter whether that person was attracted to you or not? You’re still manipulating them.

I think it’s interesting that we are looking at the situation from Sookie’s pov. She is romanticizing (vampire) Eric in her dreams. What we have not seen is Eric’s reaction to Sookie since the rooftop. That will be interesting. As it stands right now Eric does not love Sookie. That is not to say that feelings won’t develop but right now what’s going on between Sookie and Eric is not romantic. I’m more concerned with why does Eric want his connection with Sookie? And why did he want the connection with Lafayette? I find these questions much more interesting.

  • http://danitime.blogspot.com/ Dani

Lynette – I agree. In no way am I trying to say that Eric’s intent was in any way NOT trickery or decitful. However, it is curious that Bill never mentioned this side effect about the blood when it was his blood. I am not saying that makes Bill evil, just an interesting observation.

I agree with wanting to see Eric’s side to this which is what I meant when we see the “real” Eric/Sookie instead of her dreams. I think it will be quite interesting. At this point I think Eric wants a connection with Sookie because she is different than the usual humans and she triggers so much in so many people and/or vampires, like Bill. As for Lafayette, I have no idea, but I can’t wait for it to all play out!

  • tinka10

My god, you’ve read all the books yet you still don’t get the whole Eric Sookie thing? Why do you keep reading if you don’t like it? I mean, books 2-9 are practically all about Sookie and Eric. lol.

I enjoy Eric. He’s so much more interesting than Bill…who is completely dire and corpse like in the tv show eehhh

  • tinka10

    Spoiler.

(with the whole blood bond thing between E and S) In the books you realise that the bond has nothing to do with their attraction to each other.

  • http://danitime.blogspot.com/ Dani

Lynette – our comments about Bill and Eric seemed to come alive in tonight’s episode.

  • Alaris

I think that Eric has been around for such a long time that he has become quite jaded. For most of his existence he has been living a dark life, preying on humans in order to survive. Any humans coming into his circle would of have been some type of pathetic fangbanger, ‘glamoured’ or tortured and killed. Humans were only to be used and discarded. Things have changed, vampires don’t need to only drink the blood of humans to survive now and they have come ‘out of the coffin’. Although the vamps are a minority group- they are out there. The first scene where Eric was featured (S1E4?) showed a BORED, BORED vampire. Been there done that. Sookie was like a breath of fresh air in a cesspool. She did not approach him in a subservient way, but as an equal. Although Bill tried to warn her off, she stood up to him. Sookie would never come crawling to kiss his feet! Eric was enthralled. You could see him start to ‘thaw’ even before he knew she had special powers. I think that Eric has many redeeming qualities that have remained dormant for centuries. The ice started to crack with Sookie, her fierce protection of those she cares for (eg. Lafayette) and continued to crack when he was with Godric. I think that Sookie and Eric will be amazing together. I don’t think many humans lived to tell the tale after smacking the big guy’s face- look at the arsonist!

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

“True Blood” Strange Love (2008) season 1 episode1.
Sookie save Bill from the Rattrays

Bill Compton: You want to drink the blood they collected?
    Sookie Stackhouse: [disgusted] No!
Bill Compton: I understand it makes humans feel more healthy. Improves their sex life.
Sookie Stackhouse: I’m as healthy as a horse, and I have no sex life to speak of, so… you can just keep it.
Bill Compton: You could always sell it.
Sookie Stackhouse: I wouldn’t touch it.
Bill Compton: [leans in close] What are you?
Sookie Stackhouse: Well, I-I’m-I’m Sookie Stackhouse, and I’m a waitress. What’s your name?
    Bill Compton: Bill.
Sookie Stackhouse: [giggles] Bill? I thought it might be Antoine, or Basil, or-or-or like Langford, maybe. But, Bill? Vampire Bill!
    [laughs]

“True Blood” The First Taste (2008) Season1 episode2
After Bill save Sookie from the Rattrays

Sookie Stackhouse: So I guess you’ve killed a lot of people.
Bill Compton: I killed a few by accident at first. I was never sure when I was going to get my next feed. But it’s all different now. There’s Tru Blood, I can get donor blood from a clinic in Monroe, or I can glamour someone into letting me feed on them for love, and then they’ll forget all about it.
Sookie Stackhouse: Did you feed on the Rattrays?
Bill Compton: Yes, after I’d given you my blood while you were healing. You drank a lot of my blood.
Sookie Stackhouse: What will that do to me?
Bill Compton: Well, you’ll have keener senses.
    Sookie Stackhouse: What else?
Bill Compton: [pauses] Your libido will be more active.
Sookie Stackhouse: [blushes] Is-Is that it?
Bill Compton: I’ll always be able to feel you. I’ll be able to find you fast. If you’re ever in trouble, that could come in quite handy.

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

    “True Blood” Strange Love 2008 season1 episode1

Sookie Stackhouse: I never thought I would be having sex with you. At least, not so fast.
Bill Compton: [flashes his fangs] Who said anything about sex?

    Compare to eric dream
“True Blood” I Will Rise Up 2009 season2 episode 9

Eric Northman: [running a finger down her arm, waking her as she turns to him] Finish your sentence.
Sookie Stackhouse: What was I saying?
Eric Northman: You were telling me why’d you be a terrible vampire and I was disagreeing.
Sookie Stackhouse: Well I don’t feel right without a tan.
    [as he laughs]
Sookie Stackhouse: It’s true and I’d rather be alive than undead. Than ya’ll are always killin’.
Eric Northman: [knowingly] You’ve killed a man.
Sookie Stackhouse: That was for self defense, not for lunch.
Eric Northman: Shhh. Oh, you’d adapt. Like we all do. Trade the sun for the moon and stars.
Sookie Stackhouse: Uh huh. Not me. I want ‘em all.
    Eric Northman: [smiling] Ooh, greedy.
    Sookie Stackhouse: Yeah, I am.
    Eric Northman: I love it.
    [kisses her]
Eric Northman: You have the temperament for a vampire.
Sookie Stackhouse: What? I’m high maintenance, blood thirsty, and old as dirt?
Eric Northman: Ahh, blood thirsty, Yeah.
    Sookie Stackhouse: I am not.
Eric Northman: Everyone thinks you’re a darling, don’t they.
Sookie Stackhouse: I ‘am’ a darling.
Eric Northman: You’re ruthless because of the people you love. You’ll do anything for them.
    [kissing her]
Eric Northman: Your brother, your friends… me.
    Lorena: [in the shadows] Bill.
Sookie Stackhouse: [pulling away a bit] Bill? Where’s Bill?
Lorena: What do you care? You’ve already abandoned him.
Sookie Stackhouse: I have not. I love Bill.
Eric Northman: [pulling her back] I use to think you had no sense of humor.
Sookie Stackhouse: I use to think you were made of cold, hard stone and empty inside.
    Eric Northman: And now?
Sookie Stackhouse: [tender] You’re a big faker. You’re deep. You feel. There’s love in you.
    Eric Northman: Only for Sookie.
    [kissing her]
Lorena: [to Sookie] You don’t want Bill. He means nothing to you.
    Sookie Stackhouse: [moving away] No.
Eric Northman: [pulling her to him] … This is the beginning.
    [kissing her passionately]

Bill dream was not under blood bond compare to Eric dream. Is just Sookie or is it because Bill told her that the guilt it start playing on her.

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

Sookie is as bad as her brother jason, her second she went into bill house wanting sex in her dream. Her past with uncle and not having boyfriends in the pasts built up those thoughts and dreams trying to figure out what sex and love is all about.

    “True Blood” Mine 2008 season1 episode 3

Bill Compton: [in her dream] Sookie, don’t ever sneak up on a vampire. What are you doing here?
Sookie Stackhouse: All right, here’s the deal. And this is a little embarrassin’. I’ve never been with a man intimately, for all the reasons I told you about. But, I feel things when I’m with you that make me think and I know this could be a huge mistake, one I will regret forever, but it feels like you’re the one that I’m supposed to, you know, do it with. And I’m really nervous about that. And frankly I’m scared to death of you. So can we just get it out of the way already so I can relax and get a good night’s sleep?
[he draws close to kiss her]
Sookie Stackhouse: J-just don’t bite me, Okay?

  • twitterpated

Quite honestly, I think Sookie should stay with Bill and Eric can come party with me *yum*. There. Problem solved.

  • SookieStackhouse

I LOVE BILL but I WANT ERIC!!!!maybe we could have a threeway and the queen could watch!!? lol

  • chesca

I think Alan Ball is one crazy dude. I think it’s cool that Charlaine Harris likes the suspense he has created by not sticking with the books. I love the books and I love the HBO series. I only hope that the series will go on as long as the books have. Someone mentioned about why did Eric give blood to Lafayette-I think I’m crazy, but since vamp’s blood acts like a GPS system physical and mental, maybe Eric is doing it and I am assuming it’s his blood he’s selling, to keep track of who is buying-or he could just be in it for the money and since Layette was already established and owes him-why not? I also am of the camp that believes that there is chemistry between Eric and Sookie. Bill is turning out to be a prick- it’s evident from the Frenzy episode that he did not want Sookie to meet the Queen for more reasons than he told Sookie. I can’t wait to see how Eric deals with Bill’s threat of squealing- I hate squealers that’s why I think that Bill’s a jerk. Why is Eric a threat if Sookie loves him (Bill) and would you want someone who wants someone else? Hey for a vamp that’s been around, he is not so smart in the ways of love. I think Eric and Sookie are hotter because of the tension between them. It’s an old story anyway-think Taming of the Shrew, or any of the old hollywood movies with Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn or even the silly Rock Hudson and Doris Day-just “vamped” up a little with steamy sex scenes.

Here’s thing. If you haven’t read the books, DO IT! I watched to show first every ep from season one and right after the lovely dream sequence in “I Will Rise Up” I went out and bought all 9 books. Read them all in a week. I now have a better grasp on what is going on in the show… and an even better understanding of ERIC! Yum Yum! Eric and Sookie don’t have chemistry YET. * keeping my fingers crossed that they will *

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

In my posts on Eric v Bill:
I quick saying Bill is Bill and Eric is Eric. Two complete differents personality. why compare the two, why not compate them to their personality with the one in the books.
All the actors have been changed, why does Eric have to Bill or act like Bill. Is Eric so bad in the show that he has to play Bill.
    Look at the whole package
The second mistake people do when they start to compare themselves to others is choosing just one trait or activity then building their whole judgment upon it!! Someone may be very intelligent yet consider himself inadequate because he is not as good as his friends in playing soccer.

If it’s a must to compare Eric to someone else then compare the whole casts and not just him, yes he may be more smart than Bill to some or may Bill handsome than him, he may be richer than Bill but Bill may be happier than him, think of all the casts as a package because it not fair to have him have it all based on only one thing BILL IN THE SHOW HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOOKIE that he doesn’t have or that he cant do. Is Eric acting, power, seduction and story line that worthless, he has to be Eric in the Book or Bill in the show and not the rest of the casts.

  • True Blood is Alexander’ show

Marylin manson will be a good cast for a vampire opposite Eric. He might end up with Sookie.

  • True blood fan

After listen to Mr Moyer at the Emmy’s; about Sookie and Eric. Lot Eric fans books must be please. Stephen seems as well please to playing the bad guy in future episodes. Lot Bill fans love Bill because of Stephen Moyer performance and mannerism as himself on and off screen. He can play good or bad; lot people will still love him. But it’s seems that Eric fans do not enjoy Alexander Skarsgård journey as Eric in the show and prefer the one in the book. To me its an insult to his acting journey on True Blood. All the casts have great chemistry between them, even Stephen says the writters would try to put everybody together. I love the show but I don’t understand the fuss beyond team eric or team bill.
