Last night the top 10 dancers of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Season 5, were at it again. In addition to changing partners this week, the top 5 guys and girls each danced together, and each dancer also had to do a solo. Let’s find out how everybody did:
Top 5 Girls – Bollywood

Choreography:
Music: “Dholna” from Pyar Ke Geet (Soundtrack)
Thoughts: I thought this was pretty cool. The footwork is so fast, and I found it fun to see all the girls dancing together for once.
Rating: 3/4

Kayla Radomski & Evan Kasprzak – Vienese Waltz

Choreography: Tony Meredith
Music: “Kiss From a Rose” by Seal
Thoughts: I absolutely loved it and with that song (which is one of my favorite songs of all time) it was perfect. Those lifts were so beautiful. The judges didn’t seem to agree with me completely but since I don’t know much about the technical stuff, I’ll just say that I enjoyed it, a lot.
Rating: 4/4

Janette Manrara & Ade Obayomi – Hip Hop

Choreography: Napoleon and Tabitha
Music: “Love Sex Magic” by Ciara feat. Justin Timberlake
Thoughts: I thought that was really cool. Janette definitely has some funk and of course Ade was awesome. I really like these two together.
Rating: 3/4

Jeanine Mason & Jason Glover – Contemporary

Choreography: Travis Wall
Music: “If It Kills Me (The Casa Nova Sessions” by Jason Mraz
Thoughts: I liked the routine, but I guess I didn’t like it as much as the judges seemed to like it.
Rating: 4/4

Randi Evans & Kupono Aweau – Paso Doble

Choreography: Tony Meredith
Music: “Dies Irae” by Karl Jenkins
Thoughts: It was not that great for me. They just didn’t hit it as hard as I would have liked them to. And also I didn’t like Randi’s wig at all, I was always thinking she was going to lose it. Pretty disappointing.
Rating: 1/4

Melissa Sandvig & Brandon Bryant – Broadway

Choreography: Tyce Diorio
Music: “Aquarius” from Hair (The New Broadway cast)
Thoughts: I love that song, so that’s a good start and then you add Tyce Diorio’s choregraphy on top of that and you get their brilliant performance. I absolutely loved it. My favorite of the night.
Rating: 4/4

Top 5 Guys – African

Choreography: Jeffrey Page
Music: “Balant Funk” by Ayanda Clarke & Shawn Kelly
