NURSE JACKIE “School Nurse” Episode 4 Review

Peter Facinelli as Dr. Cooper and Paul Schulze as Eddie in Nurse Jackie

Now that I’ve seen a few episodes of the new Showtime series, NURSE JACKIE I feel officially invested in lives of the characters. So, you can imagine how stoked I was when I received the 4th episode, “School Nurse” to review. This isn’t going to air until June 29th, so I won’t give too much away, but I will say it is awesome! In “School Nurse”, the clouds are gathering in on Jackie. She’s been juggling two different men and there is a scene with some cell phones that is hilarious.

Jackie and her husband also got called to her daughter’s school to discuss some behavior issues she’s been having. I think one of the reasons that, as a viewer, I feel so invested in Jackie is because we get insight into all aspects of her life (work, kids, boyfriend, husband, friends). Because of this we have a better understanding of why she does certain things, but at the same time, she has a bit of a secret life that even the viewer isn’t able to fully grasp yet. For example, why does she cheat on her husband when he seems like a great guy? Are we going to learn something about him to justify the way she treats him, or is this just a character flaw that we need to accept? I think something is going to have to give in her love life soon, and I can’t wait to watch!

I am also really starting to love the character of Zoey as we see some new but not totally unexpected things from her. There is a scene with her talking to someone with a bit of a “personal” injury that is super funny!
