This episode was horrible through and through. If you were hoping for a steamy/sensual love scene between the B’s, fuggeddabbouudddit!
What a complete letdown. Having the whole cast enact one of Brennan’s stories? Please! The story was terminally lame…and the cliffhanger was the biggest tv cliche of them all: amnesia! I wish I could forget this dreaded episode.

  • Bonesfanatic

OMG! Is that really what happens!? I’m sorry, but HH and everyone involved have been assuring us for months that the sex between B & B is real, but apparently not they have been lying through their teeth. I figured the cliffhanger was going to be amnesia, which is totally predictable, but I was at least hoping that the sex would be real, between the actual Booth and Brennan. I should have known better. I am so disheartened that I am not even that excited about the episode anymore.

  • Dianna

What were they thinking? That the fans wouldn’t care? Wouldn’t hope?
    Heck, wouldn’t watch????
The episode itself is not what hurts. It’s the feeling of being out and out lied to.
    For what possible reason????
I am totally turned off by the whole Bones crew from HH on down.
Can anyone say … Sucker punched?

  • Katy

    One word: Awful

Whoever thought this episode would be a great way to end season four was dead wrong. Come on! Who wants to watch the cast of Bones roleplay in some lame story that didn’t even have a great plot???
And I am going to scream if Booth doesn’t get his memory back by next season….I don’t even know if I will be watching next season…

I watched the whole thing trying to figure out what the hell was going on, and then realized that it had to be a dream. Cliche episode, and i hate how the directors blew up everything. Booth would have recognized her for sure from the dream. He better get his memory back, or else there will be thousands that will give up on the show. Let this forum be a hint to the producers that fans are not pleased, and we dictate the success. if they want to keep their jobs, they better pay some attention

I KNOW. I was terribly disappointed. It took half the episode for me to figure out who was who or what was going on. Plus, there were no BONES. I love the disgusting overly dead bodies and the nerdilicious banter. This was like a pilot episode of a TV show that never aired. I hope next season is better. The 2nd to last episode of this season would have been a far better finale.

  • Chelsea

Come on guys… be a little less uptight, will ya’? You know that the powers that be know that part of what keeps us interested is wanting Booth and Brennan to get together — they’re not going to sacrifice that yet.
Also, I thought it was creative having the cast be on the other side of things for a change. I enjoyed seeing them play a different type of character (for one episode — it’ll be alright), and I’m sure the cast had fun with it, too.
Yes, amnesia has been done before, but we’ve seen great things out of this show — I wouldn’t judge the amnesia “twist” just yet until we see how they resolve it next season.
I liked having everyone on a single episode — hey, hey the gang’s all here — fun!
Mostly, I thought the whole premise was a great deal of fun, but for those who didn’t, I’m sure next season’s episodes will be “normal”.

That was the worst Bones episode I ever watched. OMG that was terrible. That was a D- for sure. You needed to ge back to the drawing board. WOW…..Baaaaad

  • Teresa

I agree with you, Chelsea. I really liked watching the cast play “other” characters, even though it was a little bizzare.

At first, I thought the episode was really horrible. It was like they butchered Bones and replaced it with a really bad joke, but after awhile, I got used to it and decided to enjoy the little jokes. I absolutely loved Sweet’s band (I actually think he’s a really decent singer.) It was really cool seeing the cast play different characters. Sure, it might not have been a great episode for a Season Finale, but in my opinion, I did enjoy watching it.

And the ending, for sure, I think is going to be the turning point in Booth and Brennan’s relationship. Can’t wait for Season 5!

I’ve always be a HUGE fan of the show- The writing is by far the strongest and well rounded on TV these days. You laugh- you cry- you truly feel for all the characters.

So what did I think about the last episode?… well for the first time I was disappointed. Last week I was left in tears and was anticipating tonight w/ interest. Wah wah. It was a good attempt to switch things up, but the follow-through was weak and far too out of formula. The actors did really well sticking to their guns and I really liked that Sweets (John’s) band, Dayplayer got a bit of action.

So in all… it felt like the writers got tired and threw in the Motley Crew to top it off. Hopefully, next season will stay on track.

  • noonian

hated it, hated it, hated it. this wasn’t a BONES episode, it was a weird, boring story that featured known faces in new roles in which I dn’t wanna see them, that’s not why I watch BONES. absolutely no connection to the story, the characters. didn’t click at all. nada. not interested in next season either. very disappointing. going to bed now. gonna stay in there until they take this crappy episode back.

  • Ann

I agree with Chelsea, no need to be so uptight. The episode was fun and I loved the jokes… Sweets’ band named Gormogon and him saying that it’s not him/his name despite what some people think. I also loved the insight to B/B’s married life. Although they played different roles, it was still “them”. Bones was still her overly rational self and Booth was still as protective as ever. Plus I loved that Zach was there.

Yes, the whole amnesia angle is overused but let’s not judge until we see the next season. After 4 excellent seasons of Bones, I’d hate to just give up on it all because they went to that storyline. =)

  • Aisling

You’re missing the point. This was a coma-induced set of fantasies melding one into the other, because of Booth’s surgery. He had a brain tumor, and brain injuries behave exactly like this. Think archetypally. Booth is identifying people in his life with either his inner belief about them, or his impression of their own inner belief about themselves. Of course he’s in love with Brennan, and v/v…but Cam as a hard-nosed bossy bitch detective, Jared as simultaneously a snoopy investigator meddling in Booth’s life and a crook trying to mess it up, Sweets letting his repression out in an expansive bartender/rock star suit, Ange and Hodgins as basically caricatures of themselves…it all makes an abstruse kind of sense. Go through the entire cast and think of each person through the filter of “who does Booth think this person is, or who does Booth think this person thinks he or she is”, and you will find an odd sense of rightness about the whole thing. Great fun, and can’t wait for next season.

  • BonesDecrypter

I mostly agree with you guys about the plot being lame however I agree with Chelsea and Teresa about the point of this episode. Even though the whole amnesia thing was predictable it’s still a good plot of where this series might be heading for, I just hope they don’t drag this memory loss too long.>_> And just think about it, maybe Booth not remembering some of his memories might lead to finally a BB relationship, for instance if he doesn’t remember that “just partners” line between them existing then maybe……Certainly the creators might have opened a new door for this series, whether good or bad we can only hope.>_> In any case can’t wait for next season :)

  • BonesDecrypter

Oh and forgot to mention it lol. Emily still looks HAWT! but I mostly prefer her in her geeky character than that temptress character that she’s playing in this episode. It’s weird seeing them kiss so much in this ep when for the last 4 seasons the only kiss scene they had was the mistletoe kiss >_>

  • Jennifer

I will say I love the show and I am one who watches every single repeat show. I too had my hopes that B and B would have sex to get her pregant, I even looked forward to how funny it would be to see both of them playng parents to be, But what happened in the finale was just like someone mixed General Hospital and Bones and came out with a version no one whats to see. So if the writers are listening please dont destroy this show, the actors are great and have come together to form a wonderful balance of Murder mystery, comedy, passion. I only hope they keep B and B together and maybe let them explore a closer story line as in the past. The best thing that can happen is to go back to what makes this show so dam great, good story line with excellent actors and actress telling the story.

  • Jennifer

I almost forgot, it was great to see Zach, and Max back as well as many other great char.

Well i wasn’t one of the better episodes however, i think they did it for a reason. I belive its a set up for next season, if i can elaberate: What i mean to say is that it’s conected to several past episodes. As an example Jared alway getting in trouble and in booths’ dream/ brendans book he get in touble by form of a murder and arrest. The main quality that we all like about bones is not just the crimes solving but the plot between Dr.Brendan and Booth. In my opion it was quite clear that in one episode they where not going to suddenly relize there passion for each other and jump into bed together. The writer did show us that Brendan and Booth are now both realizing there affetion for each other, Booth threw his dream and Brendan threw her book. As regards to Booths’ dream this also plays an inportant event and as i pointed out has connection with prevouse episodes. I don’t pretend to know compleatly what the writers were trying to say but i do know what i think. It is my beleaf that the conection are this:
    1) At the end ” Booth” and ” Brenndan” are preganet this could mean three thing;
A)In Booth’s mind he want brendan to be preganet with his cild
B)Its a repasantation of Brendan and Booth insemination episode
    C) both
    2)There were married for Three possible resons thouse being;
    A)It representing there partnership
    B)Booth want to marry her
    C) both
There trying to tell us something give us clues to whats gonna happen next.In regards to the memory loss; I have no idea. Personaly i hope they just make him be pulling a trick on Dr.Brendan.( If not i wonder if she going to use his “stuff”(semon)).

    Pointer:
When watching this episode keep in mind
    Brendans’ book = Booths’ dream

  • wdag

Actually this was the worst Bones episode. Nevertheless is an important leap to taste which is the range of options that the writers may to play in next season. Sweet’s outgoing personality leading an alternative rock band is a good twist, but more important (of course) to see the possibility of a BB marriage (With children).

In the next season they will hang with the amnesia argument for a while, in order to tear down the Both’s wall and let him discover trough the healing process his truly feelings for Bones, and vice verse, she will be in a position in which she will have nothing to hide and she will feel free to express trough a mindful care her deepest affections for Both.

And everything will be good and love till Both recovers his full memory and their professional walls will build up once again and their love will become again into that dangerous zone where neither of them want to cross, just because it’s the final frontier and the writers don’t want to throw that twist any soon. But it may be a terrific foreplay for all of us.

The episode was really bad, but it opened doors for the next season under the excuse of seeing the Both’s unconscious, a nice cliffhanger at the end.

  • xbonesx

Well, I must say the episode received much criticism. However, I honestly did not think it was that bad. I think if the marriage and the whole episode was not a dream nor Brennan’s book the show could possibly last one more season. If producers have Booth and Brennan together they will realize there is only so much to write, when the fans are satisfied by their romance. The shows about their questionable chemistry. Yes, the cliffhanger at the end did open doors for next season, and I hope its a good one!

  • xbonesx

However, I could be wrong and having Booth and Brennan together could open the door for many seasons to come.

Hello! I am a HUGE fan of Mr. B and Dr. B and guess what? A lot of people are being mean about that show. So what? The acting of Dr. Brennan’s story is lame, yeah, but dig deeper, like the guy at the begginging says. x.x You will find what that old english phycotrist of Booth ment about oine of them struggling wiht their feelign about one another. Dr. Brennan loves Mr. Booth, That was what I found in that. In the end, the last part was so sad. It almost made me cry, even though in my Roel Palys when Clans of cats are dying and blood is being spilled and cats are crying to one onther saying they loved themnad they’ll see them in StarClan, that doesn’tmade me cry. Quote:
“Why did it take you so long to wake up?” IF you see the meaning in those words she is saying, she really cares and she is not the however old she is tough and rough geniuse of the Jefersonian, she is the nine year old girl on christmas who misses her parents and are sent to foster care with tears in her and big brother’s eyes. She is that little girl in the lab who found her mother’s face on a facial reconstruction. She’s that girl who had her father and brohter run away from her again. She is a little girl who stuck her fealing and emotions in a bottle and threw knolege and logic in their place to cover up the giant black hole of pain. She isn’t Dr. Brennan, she’s Joy. I hope that the message I gave you encourages you to think again. Oh, and one more thing. I’m a 7th grade girl from a tiny town in the country, just to let you know.
