Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley Cast in The CW’s VAMPIRE DIARIES

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have been cast in The CW’s VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Vampire Diaries will be based on the series of books by LJane Smith which centers on a high school girl who is torn between two vampire brothers – one good and one evil.

The funny thing is I was going to pick up this book the other day without realizing that The CW was making a show out of it. I guess vampires really are in lately.

Ian Somerhalder (Lost) will play Damon Whitmore, a vampire who can go from casual and playful to pure evil in less than a second.

As for Paul Wesley (Everwood, Army Wives) will play Stefan Whitmore, Damon’s brother, who is a “gloriously, amazingly, epic-ly beautiful young man, elegant and ageless,” who although appearing to be 17-18 is actually a 200-year-old vampire who has come to Mystic Falls in search of Elena.

Elena, the main character, will be played by Nina Dobrev (Degrassi: The Next Generation).

This show sounds right up my alley and I can definitely can behind the casting of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley as the vampires.

Plus with Kevin Williamson as the executive producer and writer, I think we’re in good hands.

WTF! This cast totally sux!…..These actors/actresses do not resemble the books characters at all, whatsoever. First off..ELENA IS BLONDE!!! Also,Ian and Paul are totally not dark enough to play vampire brothers!

Hola a todos, primero quiero decirles que no me he perdido un solo capitulo de la serie, me fascina, los dos hermanos estan super lindos, los ojos de Damon son espectaculares, y su maldad lo hace ver un vampiso bello, sexy y super buenisimo, pero Stefan tiene todo bello, los ojos, labios, todo su fisico y aparte su papel esta buenisimo, un vampiro bueno y hermoso, saludos para ambos desde Tovar estado Mérida, Venezuela. Y un besote para Stefan, en vampiro bueno. No se pierdan la seria por Warner Chennel.

i think that Ian somerhalder can be cute but only when he wants to be but paul wesley is cuter than Ian somerhalder although he doesn’t take off his top.

First off, i think the cast is perfect, although yea… Elena is supposed to be blonde xD
Ian is absolutely perfect for Damon and so is Paul. At least the cast is better than Twilight’s. Twilight sucks real bad that i can’t believe people still love it. And Season 1 of Vampire Diaries to me was really good.

I 100 percent agree with you on just about everything you said haha. The cast for Twilight sucks! And yeah I don’t see why people still love it either ! Really bad acting…not convincing at all. And Vampire Diaries is like the practically perfect cast. They have the right personalities and are all really good actors/actresses as well. So what if they don’t have the right eye color or hair color or shade of skintone, it isn’t exactly like the books, it’s actually better than the books. (For twilight the books are better haha.)
