LOST “Namaste” Review

Lost

What did you think of tonight’s episode of LOST, “Namaste”?

Props to everyone who predicted Sun was the one that went with Lapidus. How come she didn’t time warp with the others? I figured she would have gone with the rest of the Oceanic Six. Maybe it was the island’s way of telling her she should be home taking care of her baby? Also, we found out that Ben was definitely not faking his injuries being that he took oar to the back of the head (go Sun).

Did anyone else notice how fast Juliet put down the baby when she found out it was Ethan? LOL. I would have done the same thing. Sawyer seems to have found his calling working in the Dharma Initiative, but he seems to have lost some of his edge. He did come to life a little bit when he was speaking to Jack. I sense trouble now that Kate is back in the picture. Isn’t she with Jack still? I could have sworn Juliet left Kate’s name off the list on purpose before and then had second thoughts.

One thing that has really been confusing me is Christian (aka Jack’s dad, aka possibly Jacob?). Is he a ghost? A Phantom? He seems to only appear at night when people are in trouble (usually in a cabin of some sort). Also, did you notice the creepy whispering started when they got close to him? He gives me the willies. He’s the male version of the old lady that sent them back to the island. It sounds like he might be willing to help Lapidus and Sun get back to the others. I hope so because it’s not cool that Sun and Jin are in two different times.
Also, are we ever going to find out what’s going on with Desmond and Penny? And we were right about young Ben being on the island. The little kid that played him is a great look alike. I wonder if young Ben is friend, foe, or fremesis (which is a friend and a nemesis which is basically what he is now)?

Amie – I was planning on coming here and saying the same thing. Props to those who said it was Sun. I was totally wrong about that, but like you, figured she must have time jumped. I wonder why she did not.

Aside from Penny and Desmond, I am also really curious about what happened to Faraday. Didn’t Sawyer say “not anymore” when asked if he was still on the island? It was strange because he had just spoke of Faraday in the present tense right before that.

This season is very good. I like that they are answering questions (like who went off with the pilot) right away as there are so many questions to answer. Keeps me watching intensely the entire time.

    Hey Dani-

Great question. What happened to Faraday? I think he may have figured out a way to time warp. Remember the first episode this season when we see him at the Orchid station? Maybe he sent himself to the future?

Also, what are your thoughts on Jack’s dad’s role in this whole thing?

I read an interesting theory that the only people who time traveled are those that Locke visited. That would explain why Sun didn’t go back to 1977. Although it doesn’t really explain why Locke and Ben didn’t time warp so maybe not.

I agree that the kid who plays Ben is a good lookalike! The look in Sayid’s eyes when he heard the kid’s name was great. I think young Ben better watch his back.

By the way, I thought it was awesome that the Muppet Show was on one of the monitors behind Jin when he was trying to find out about the plane. LOL

    Hey Amie -

You know I hadnt given Christian much thought until you asked me but I did suddenly think of something. Now, I don’t have as great of a memory as some real die hard Lost fans so if I am not remembering something correctly, by all means let me know.

However, I seem to recall that in the first season they discovered that Christian’s body was missing from the casket. Is it possible that Christian has somehow been brought back to life by the Island kind of like Locke was recently when he was transported to the island by casket? And maybe they are not fully alive, but we did see Christian move/handle the picture on the wall so he is not a full ghost.

Kristen’s theory about Sun is quite interesting too.
