Review: SUPERNATURAL “Criss Angel is a Douche Bag” (Season 4 Episode 12)

Jared Padalecki as Sam, Jensen Ackles as Dean, Richard Libertini as Vernon in SUPERNATURAL

Tonight’s episode of SUPERNATURAL, “Criss Angel is a Douche Bag,” was definitely an upgrade from last week’s (did I mention I’m not a horror fan?), but before I get into it, I have to stop and talk about the awesome title. The writers had to know that a title like “Criss Angel is a Douche Bag” would strike up quite a conversation before anybody even watched the episode. I personally just loved how they made fun of Criss Angel by having a look-alike in the episode. Truth be told I used to love Criss Angel, but then I went to see his show in Vegas (Criss Angel Believe – Cirque du Soleil) and was very disappointed. Without getting into it too much, I could figure out pretty much 90% of the tricks in the show, and when you’re going to see a magic show, well let’s just say that’s not supposed to happen. So for Supernatural to have a title like that, you almost have to watch the episode even if you’re not a Supernatural fan.

Moving on to tonight’s episode. Even though I enjoyed it and found it quite funny in parts, I just wish they would go back to the whole Angel story line. Am I the only one wondering where the heck Castiel is? I mean, come on he is the coolest thing that came out of this season and his potential has not yet been exhausted, so I want more. I am ready for the “let’s fight the evil of all evil” story line to continue.

But I can’t be mad at Supernatural for too long. What can I say I have a sweet spot for it in my heart. So all that’s left to say is I’m looking forward to next week’s episode, which by the look of the clips we previously posted, looks like it’s going to be pretty funny.

So what did you guys think of tonight’s episode of Supernatural, “Criss Angel is a Douche Bag”? Are you also missing Castiel and the Angels? Or are you glad to be getting more a case-centric episode? Share your thoughts below.

Was I the only one to get the foreshadowing in this epiosde? (I’ll try not to spoil anything if you haven’t already seen the episode) Because that was what really made this episode worthwile to me, even if I found this weeks “hunt” a little lackluster and predictable. There were some funny parts *coughCheifcough* and the parts with Ruby were amazing, but like I said: Foreshadowing. Amazing and semi-subtle. 4/5 stars!

^I agree. I think this was just the top step of the very high ladder that we will be falling off of the rest of the season.

I love supernatural and have turned numerous people onto the show and up until the last two episodes i’ve referred to season 4 as the best season of supernatural yet. But with that said the last two episodes have throughly disappointed me. They have been boring and lacked that something the boys have that makes the show so awesome. I agree with the review Castiel def needs to come back as that’s the story line that’s been working so well this season. A part of me wants to believe since the writers tend to be so planned out that the last two episodes were suppossed to be boring and lack a point because that’s the point Ruby made in this episode to Sam. Plus if Sam went against Dean without the audience seeing how pointless what they’ve been doing is Sam would look like the bad guy but now the audience agrees with Ruby and Sam because the last two episodes have been pointless. Who knows just a thought.

He is a dam good street performer, but the Luxor has really taken the wind from his sails. His show started w/one of his famous street acts, but then quickly turned in to a big theater production that went nowhere! Lot of dancing?!?! Sad he will be there for the next 10 years like he mentioned during his show. My advice watch his TV show (it’s cheaper) and spend your $ elsewhere
