Review: GOSSIP GIRL “You’ve Got Yale!” (Season 2 Episode 16)

Leighton Meester as Blair and Laura Breckenridge as Rachel

I don’t know about you, but GOSSIP GIRL has been very boring to me the last two episodes, it feels like it has lost its touch.

It seems that the writers don’t really know what to do with Serena and Dan. One week they’re together, the next they’re not, and now Serena is not sure whether or not she wants to go to Yale.

I’m not liking Blair that much either right now, it seems she’s becoming even more of a bitch, and not in a good way.

After last week’s episode, I don’t feel like Chuck is suited to run Bass Industries (yes, I sided with Jack last week), so it was hard to root for him this week.

And don’t even get me started on Jack trying to assault Lily, that was so unrealistic. I know he’s mad but come on! Assaulting Lily in the middle of a party, what did he think he was going to achieve?

Needless to say I’m not too excited about Gossip Girl right now and it is getting harder and harder for me to watch.

Do you guys feel the same or are you still into Gossip Girl a 100%?

well actually i think it was a great chapter, it got into my nerves, and believe it or not when people are stoned (like jack usually is, and it’s suposed that it’s not with simple drugs) they can actually do things they would’nt think of normally… anyway i don’t like the Derena part either, i think that she should have stayed (even if a would have hate her for doing it) with Dan in Yale… because it’s quite sad for them to know that at some point they won’t be together anymore… about Chuck, i’m not actually really objective about him so i obviously get on his side :p, and Blair? we now what she’s like, since the beggining, it’s not like we can’t wait for her to change to be a nice simple girl, she is just 18 you know, even if you try, at that age we tend to be inmature (at least i used to, now i’m about to be 20 but i haven’t change to much, lol) so of course if she is used to be in control this little “trying to be right” teacher is going to get into her nerv, and by the way SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!! i have heard that she and Dan are going to have something, i would hate her even more (besides contradicting Blair) then, and Dan too if he ever thinks so!
I’m still 100% into gossip girl :p but it’s nice to critic things we don’t like too

I personally thought it was a great episode. I do however agree that nothing interesting seems to be happening with Dan and Serena and its strange to think how the first season was really mainly about them and now it’s gone from Jenny (and the two minute relationship with Nate which, if you have read the books, lasts a long time but of course everything in the show is diferent from the books, and better in my opinion) to Chuck and to Lily and Rufus. Blair is simply as annoying as always and pretty much always has the same storyline and is always trying to get back at someone for something and I loved how Chuck got all worried about Lily when he saw the whole bathroom thing I just loved it and I love Chuck.

Personally, i loved this episode! i loved at the end how Blair was all like ‘oooh its war’ and doing the whole walking thing which is always in action movies you know?
Dan and Serena, i wish they would just be happy and lovie dovie :)
im surprised were not seeing more of Nate and Vanessa seeings as their still going strong…i guess no drama means no gossip lol
its all about the Bass’ at the moment and i dont mind at all.
i adored when Chuck asked Lily if he could move back in!!! i think Lily really wants to be good mom to him and Serena and Eric. I always disliked Jack and im glad he’s gone! good riddance! i loved how Chuck saved her! he wants to be a good son to her too
Rufus and Lily, i couldnt believe their son was still alive. its like Serena said, ‘finding out we have share a sibling, then finding out that we dont share a sibling’ and then eventually finding out that they do share a sibling after all that! gee!
their relationship has just the right amount of awkwardness with the kids but you know that it can survive the Upper East Side. :)
    keep it up i say!
