J.J. Abrams’ new show, FRINGE, finally aired its pilot tonight. What Did You Think?
To me Fringe wasn’t the excitement that Lost was when I first saw it, but it was really good.
First we get the plane, which seems to be a favorite of J.J. Abrams, but it was ok because not only did it set the stage for a great storyline, it had nothing to do with the plane from Lost.
Then we meet the three main character, Olivia, Peter, and Dr. Walter Bishop. Since there was no way I wasn’t going to like Joshua Jackson in this (he’s just awesome), I guess it’s really about whether I liked the other two characters. And I did, especially Dr. Bishop, there is so much potential with that character, that I am looking forward to his future storylines.
As for the format of the show, I think it’s something that I will enjoy. As J.J. Abrams explained in a recent conference call, Fringe will be very ER-like in its format, mixing “cases of the week” with the overall arch of the characters and story.
Overall, I really enjoyed the premiere and think it’s a great show. And I will of course keep watching.
But what I really want to know is, after all the hype, What Did You Think of “Fringe”?
