I love this show!!!!! Keep it!!!! I am tired of networks cancelling shows without giving them a chance. It is hard to keep up with shows during the summer, I have had to watch almost every episode online. I did it because I love it. Try again in the fall or winter and keep it on the same night w/o moving it around. That is why shows fail, because networks move them around so much!!! This is a good show and it showed be given a second chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fan of Swingtown in Illinois

I will be so mad if they cancel Swingtown! It is a AWESOME Show and so unfair to leave the viewers High and Dry !! CBS always cancels the good shows just like they did to Jericho! BOO on CBS!

  • Aimee Newber

Please keep this show on the air! I look forward to watching this every week. I think it is the best show on TV.

  • monique

It is refreshing to have a good old fashioned night time soap opera again. The other choices consist of sports, crime drama and the endless lineup of so called reality. Enough already! Let us keep “Swingtown”!! The added taboo factor is an extra delicious tidbit.

  • Lisa

Cancelled??? why so we can have one more terrible reality show.

Bring it back! Only show I watch weekly!

  • Mary

PLEASE DON’T CANCEL SWINGTOWN!!! I agree with the other bloggers…Summer is the WORST time to put on a new show. Give this one a chance in the fall. It is a quality show; wonderful acting, great storylines, awesome sets and costumes, the music rocks plus, I adore the cast. I need to see what happens to Janet & Roger & Susan. And that tramp Melinda. And what about Trina & the baby? Come on…give Swingtown another chance. PLEASE!!!

  • Jorge

Glad to see this go, more garbage that doesn’t need to clutter up the airwaves. So typical of network television these days though, I feel sorry for the folks who comitted to watching it only to be cast aside…

  • http://www.mahoganydymond.net mahoganydymond

I loved the show. It is about the only thing that had me watching TV again. The writing and the characters were awesome. CBS needs to take a good look. I know that some people don’t watch it because of the name, but come on.. Everyone is not prudes..

  • Aimee

This is wonderful show and even though some people say its a little to carzy, thats waht makes it so great. All the shows on these days are all the same plot with different characters or stupid reality shows. What makes this show great is that there aren’t any other shows like it on. CBS needs to give it a little more time for people to pick it up. People are busy during the summer and dont want to get into watching new shows. Most people spend the summer outside. I luckily DVR’d it but not everyone does. it only makes sense it keep it on through the fall and winter months when people whatch more TV. PLEASE KEEP IT!!!!!!!!

  • Paul in NYC

Wow. REALLY? Another unique and interesting show with so much potential has to bite the dust? It was fun and sweet and goofy (in a good way) and SOMETHING DIFFERENT! What can be done to stop it’s cancellation? How do you let CBS know it is not all about ratings???? (Friends, Cheers, Star Trek Next Gen all had weak early ratings!)

  • Thomas

Cancel the show and BURN THE TAPES!! This show is God-awful and little more than an excuse to air softcore porn on network TV.

  • Tracie Garrett

Please don’t cancel SWINGTOWN! My boyfriend and I grew up in this era and love the music and cars and just really love the show. We love the cast and enjoy this night time show and would really hate to see it cancelled.

  • Maureen

At first I was a little skeptical myself about the swinging thing. After watching the show & seeing that there is actually a great story line here I was hooked! The way everyone’s lives are intertwined, even bringing the teen’s & tween’s into the mix, is all very interesting. I also was a kid in the 70′s & love the music & the complete nostalgia I feel watching it. I agree, how many more crime dramas & reality shows are we going to be subjected to? Please keep SWINGTOWN on the air!!! At least give it a fair shot through the fall. A lot of people are away over the summer & are not looking to pick up a new show that you have to watch on a weekly basis. For the record when I was on vacation I made sure to be at the hotel in time to catch it!

  • Jacque

Unfortunaly, this is the case with CBS all the time. Rather than get mad, I am definitly going to say to heck with them. I don’t want to keep torchering myself with likeing a show they are just going to cancel anyway.

Swingtown was the best show I had ever watched and actually could say I wouldn’t miss it each week. I will make sure I don’t watch CBS anymore. Unless of course they bring it back.
Great while it lasted. Thanks CBS for the tease. We appricate you listen to you fans. lol.

  • Toni on LI

Just when this show started to get interesting & things seemed to be coming to a head it gets canceled!

Why not show the entire summer season over the fall & see if it gets better ratings?

One summer season is definitely not enough to cancel a show, who is around over the summer?

    Please don’t cancel SWINGTOWN!!!!

  • Brigette

I am not a big network TV watcher but i have to say that SWINGTOWN was the only show i looked forward to! I finally found a show that i could relate to and characters that i fell in love with. I waited each week to find out what happened with everyone’s relationship. That has never happened in my entire TV watching life! I felt such a loss thinking i may never find out what happens with Susan and Roger. Or Susans and Janets relationship because of Roger! I could go on and on!

Please keep Swingtown on….just a little longer….I need my fix! We are approaching Friday and I am sad my show wont be on! I feel like the kid in the toy aisle! I WANT IT!

  • brian

i loved swingtown yes it is not for children but that is why is was on at 9 pm as for softcore porn like thomas said pull your head out of the sand it is 2008 it didnt show anything bad an it is alot better then all the violence we see on tv everyday porn doesnt have a plot this did. PLEASE DONT CANCEL. give it a chance this fall

Guys! I have read that it is not *OFFICIAL* that the show has been canceled (yet), but go to the link and write a request that gets sent to CBS that you LOVE the show and get as many people you know to write messages online about Swingtown. Talk about what is was up against this summer (the olympics) and it’s bad time slot (esp. the move to Fridays) and perhaps we can get it to have at least another season (whatever they decide to air it… fall. spring… summer)… just leave any kind of positive feedback and get the word out to CBS execs…

  • J

Please don’t cancel Swingtown! This is the only show I watch every week. I agree with the other posters. One summer is not enough to rate the show, I had to watch almost every episode online because of the schedule. I look forward to it every week. Bring it back!!

  • gary motto

I think the Swingtown is a great show. I find it unfortunate to think the reason behind this descision is based on the lack of interest in the advertising. I’ve heard directly thru some local programing in my city, That there is diffeculty in finding advertisers that want commericals during Swingtown. We, as a culture obviously are annoyed by commericals anyway! That is way major cable companies created “DVR”!!! No one wants to see them as much as they want to Swingtown! CBS should send Swingtown to it’s perfect outlet : Showtime!!! It would make Swingtown even more interesting and fun! Let the small minded, unrealistic, people have their Friday back! Enjoy your commericals, non-swingers, and remember all the other things on primetime….that suck….that you watch….and aren’t smart enough to realize that: Just because it’s not in the title….doesn’t mean the actions aren’t there! Give us our Swingtown…put it on Showtime.

  • Julie N

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I think I will just die if I don’t have my favorite show, Swingtown, to look forward to at the end of my crappy work week and empty life. The characters are so mesmerizing, especially Tom and Trina, and there is so much going on with the story line right now that it would be absurd to just drop it at this point. I’m willing to watch any and all commercials just to see it.

Personally, I think Friday is not the best time to attract many viewers as a lot of people have tons of other stuff to do on the weekend. Thursday night was good but kind of late for people who work early the next morning. I bet if it was on at 9 p.m. on a weeknight there would be a much larger audience. There must be other people besides me who are sick and tired of all the dull, worn out reality shows. I was sure that Swingtown would be one of those shows going on and on for years! What’s wrong with people?

  • http://yahoomail Elizabeth Harding

dont cancel swingtown!!!its one of the best shows of the summer, and the other comments I read from other viewers echo my sentiments-thats its fun,yet corny, and endearing, reminiscent of an era we grew up in. I am so sick of reality tv.shows. Boring. Same old same old. Swingtown is a breath of fresh air.

  • Tymeka Slater

My mother and I always look forward to watching Swingtown!! We just love it. I work late some Fridays but try to stop what ever I am doing just to watch the show!!! All my good friend watched it, too!! Please don’t cancel this show!!!!! I

We will talk about the characters on the phone just like we know them. please please please don’t cancel this show!!!!

  • Toonces

So typical of networks to move a show before it had a chance to really allow audiences to grab a hold of it. Swingtown is/was a great show and a lot of fun to watch, especially growing up in the 70s as I did I found it so entertaining. It actually captured the feel of that decade, and to me that is a good thing. I don’t hold out much hope that CBS will renew this show but I sure wish they would. Perhaps make it an annual summer series and air it right after one of the Big Brother episodes during the week. I don’t know why they didn’t do that to begin with.

  • Sarah

I can’t get enough of Swingtown! I am fascinated with life in the 70′s and from my understanding, this show captures the era and turns it loose again. The characters and story lines are great! I will be devastated if it gets cancelled. Please don’t cancel Swingtown!

  • Maya

First Jericho now Swingtown??? Are you KIDDING me??? This is the only show I watched all thru the summer. Please, please dont cancel this show! At the very least, offer it to HBO or Showtime!

  • Tammy R.

OH GOD NO!!!! I loooooove Swingtown! I never grew up in the seventies but I love the fashion and music. That would really suck if its cancelled. I hardly watch any shows and got into this one since the first episode. The characters of Tom and Trina are so awesome. I wish they were my neighbors! After the finale, I really want to see what happens next.

  • christina

I LOVE SWINGTOWN!!!!! Its the only show on TV I enjoy watching. I look forward to this show every week! I didnt grow up in the 70s but I love watching the show. It is the most realistic show on Tv today.

  • mellissa

I love this show – my husband and I watch it weekly and I really got hooked. The interesting thing is that where I heard viewers came on strong and then dropped off, I feel the viewers that dropped off missed out on the best episodes! I think the first episode was so so and sort of weird with the little neighbor girl, but they really started bringing it all together after that! I hope they don’t cancel it -I don’t know what we would watch instead guess I will have to go back to 20/20…

  • Holly

have never been so upset to hear a show had been cancelled, until now. This is a great show and all my friends watch it. When it moved to Friday night, I started downloading it from iTunes. Cancellation was a mistake!!!!

  • Heather

I really hope they don’t cancel Swingtown. I luv the show. I can’t find it on Friday nights now so I guess they have semi canceled it. Please bring it back.

  • dez

Give the show a chance before you cancel it. My wife and I love the show and hope it is still around for another season. I would love to see it moved to showtime, but that sounds unlikley. I don’t see how you can expect great rateings on friday night in the middle of summer.

  • Nina & Howie

We LOVE Swingtown!!! Give it a chance and move it back to Thursday nights!

  • Sonia

you’ve got to be kidding me!? networks are so fickle! they premiered this show in summer and changed its time twice, they haven’t even given it a chance…. many shows come into their own in the second season. in fact, many of the greatest shows of all time started poorly in the ratings. goes to show idiots are running the networks…

  • http://swingtown JoAnn

I absolutely loved this show. I am looking forward to new episodes. It was actulally my favorite new show. Come on CBS, Don’t screw up another great show. Give it a chance. Have you ever thought of putting in on saturday evenings? There is absolutely nothing worth watching on the weekends. What’s up with that???? If you decide to cancel Swingtown I just may have to check out the other networks maybe then CBS will be nicknamed “networse”. You really have some real dud programs that I am sure don’t have very good ratings, why they stay on I can’t understand. So please keep Swingtown on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Linda

Duh, why do you all at CBS think the ratings dropped when you moved this awesome show from Thursday to Friday??? It’s called “it’s the weekend, lets go out” of course the ratings would drop a little, but this show is awesome, I love the 70′s and the cast is great, so why dont you do the viewers a favor and give us what we want????? WE WANT SWINGTOWN!!!!!!

  • ashley

I absolutely love this show. I am so tired of watching new shows and starting to like them just to have them cancelled. I dont know how many times that this has happened to me now and its getting a little old. Please for once give this show another shot. I think it has real promise. BRING SWINGTOWN BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sanfran

Like so many others…this is the only show that I watched all summer. If I missed it, I would watch it on my laptop…I am 46…I had to learn how to do that. Once I recorded it on my DVR…which I also had to learn how to do. To make myself clear…I went to great lengths not to miss a single episode! Even my husband wanted to see the last episode…the one I recorded…so I watched it twice. Please don’t take it off the air!! So many of my friends watch it too! Leave Swingtown on the air!!!!!!

  • Lori

I live in Germany and we don’t get many shows on AFN here on the big 10 stations we have and my husband and I download a lot of shows from the states to watch and we love “Swingtown” please keep it on the air.

  • Ty

Typical of CBS to pull the plug on a great show. There are way too many crime shows on. Swingtown had a good unfolding plot with great characters. It wasn’t just all about bangin your neighbors wife, but about relationships that develop between friends. Yeah.give us another stupid crime show so we can see more people getting shot in the head or something….

  • Steve

I really enjoyed Swingtown. From the comments that I have read, there seems to be allot of people who enjoyed the show as well. I would suggest that you not cancel Swingtown.

  • Cat Hagford

I love the show. You can’t go by summer ratings. People are busy in the summer. Give it a chance!!! My daughter and I never missed it. We love it.

  • http://CBS K

PLEASE keep Swingtown on the air. I’ve enjoyed watching the show…and one that isn’t a reality show. I thought finally a good sitcom and now it isn’t on!!! What’s the deal? Summertime on Friday night 10? Luckily I have a TIVO to record it.
PLEASE, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE keep the show running.

    Sincerely,
    A huge swingtown FAN!!

  • Brenda

I love Swingtown and I love the 70′s. This is a really good show and I looked forward to it every Friday. Give it a chance!!

  • http://Daemons Judy

We love Swingtown! Brings back GREAT memories of the 70′s!!! We really looked forward to watching it every Friday! PLEASE don’t cancel it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tom

One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. The show is different from anything else out there. Love the characters the music. Please don’t cancel. Good thing I have the shows on my dvr.

  • Randy and Catherine

So sad. This was truly the only CBS show we would never miss, even when CBS tried to kill it by moving it to Friday night. It is an honest story line of the temptations and challenges that couples looking for excitement in their marriages face in life, not to mention the issues that their affected children deal with.

CBS was always quite cutting edge and a leader in the 70′s, but when it comes to presenting the 70′s now, they cowtow, fold there tent and create another dull, boring, easy “reality”show or CSI Des Moines. Come on CBS…….show some moxy.

  • Melissa

My husband and I watched Swingtown together every Friday night. It’s a different kind of show compared to what is on in the evenings. We are not fond of the police and hospital/doctor shows. Swingtown is a great show! Please bring it back!!!

  • shelly

What a rotten thing to do , taking swingtown off the air right when the plot was at it’s best . Sheer torture. Love the nostalgia , as I grew up in that period. It was definately the highlight of my summer . I want moreeeeeeee. Bring it back please
