Laurence Fishburne on CSI?

Could Laurence Fishburne join CSI? If so I might have to start watching it again.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Laurence Fishburne is in fact in negotiations to replace William Petersen after he leaves on CSI.

The character he would be playing is “described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn’t previously acted on any homicidal impulses.”

So yeah, that actually sounds really cool. So let’s cross our fingers, although does that mean that we’ll see less of Fishburne in movies, because that’s not cool.
