Review: AMERICAN IDOL “8 Finalists Compete”

Tonight the top 8 performed on AMERICAN IDOL season 7. I have to say, it seemed like everyone was tired tonight. Is their hectic schedule taking a toll on them?

But like every week, everyone was on stage to perform. Let’s find out how they did.

1. Michael Johns

Thoughts: It seems that Michael Johns does very well with Queen’s songs. Tonight was a pretty good performance and I think he’s going to stick around for another week.

2. Syesha Mercado

Thoughts: I like Syesha, but as a rule I don’t think American Idol contestants should sing the songs of previous contestants, it never works out because we always compare it to the original. And tonight was not that great.

3. Jason Castro

Thoughts: Amazing! Jason Castro was the best of the night and his song choice was perfect!

4. Kristy Lee Cook

Thoughts: Kristy has been surviving the bottom three for weeks and I always feel like saying give the poor girl a break. I thought tonight she did a really good job and sang very well, so hopefully she stick around for one more week.

5. David Cook

Thoughts: Oh no, what happened? David Cook lost it this week. I didn’t really enjoy the song either. Oh well, he’s been doing so good the last few weeks, even Carrie Underwood had a week off, so I’ll forgive him. There’s always next week to make it up.

6. Carly Smithson

Thoughts: Not much to say except that I didn’t really liked it. Like the judges, I didn’t feel connected to her at all.

7. David Archuleta

Thoughts: It was a great song choice and once again a great performance. I will say one thing though, I don’t think that David really got what the full meaning of the song was, but that’s mostly due to his age. I’m still a fan.

8. Brooke White

Thoughts: I like Brooke White, I really do, but tonight was just boring to me. She needs to step back up or she might end up in the bottom three again.
