This week was an interesting week since I got myself all caught up with the first season of THE TUDORS (just in time for the premiere of the second season) and for a TV show that I didn’t think I was going to like that much, I can honestly say that The Tudors has completely changed my mind and I cannot wait to see more.
Thankfully, The Tudors returns this Sunday at 9pm with a whole new season on Showtime.
Here is how I feel about The Tudors: it’s like watching a movie/documentary about Henry VIII, except that they go into such details (obviously there is some creative liberties taken about the story) that it lasts for weeks and just keeps getting better.
In addition, the cast is full of so many wonderful actors who contribute in making this TV show one of the best acted on Television.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, whom I have been a fan of since I saw him in The Governess in 1998 (can you believe it’s been 10 years already!), is absolutely brilliant as King Henry VIII and brings out the human aspect of the character in such a way that it is hard to totally dislike him.

Natalie Dormer brings such class to the character of Anne Boleyn, that it’s easy to understand why the King is so infatuated by her.

Henry Cavill is the perfect ladies’ man as Charles Brandon and I will go as far as saying that Henry Cavill could be the next up and coming heartthrob.

Callum Blue (Anthony Knivert), whom I just want to mention because he was in Dead Like Me and I am just happy to see him in such a great show.

James Frain (Thomas Cromwell), who is someone else I have liked since I saw him in Where the Heart Is.
And so many more.

And this new season also adds Peter O’Toole as Pope Paul III and Hans Matheson as Thomas Cranmer.
I’m telling you, what is not to like about The Tudors?
So without further ado, it is my pleasure to introduce you to The Tudors…
