David – #1 ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES

Only Fools and Horses

If you have never seen or even heard of this show I demand you go to the local video store this moment and rent it. It follows two Cockney Brothers (the trotters) from Peckham, London trying to make a quick buck by any means neccessary. The two brothers live together in a council flat and share a great loyalty and bond to one another, Del Boy (David Jason) is an ambitious fast talking, charming market trader selling all sorts of dodgy merchandise and is generally the ‘brains’ although I use that term losely, his younger brother Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) follows him around as Del Boy has sort of raised him since their mother died. Also living with them is Grandad, who will have you in fits.

These three started off as the shows only regualr characters but through time others have entered the scene, the dopey road sweeper ‘Triiger’, the snobby used car salesman ‘ Boycie’ and the Lorry Driver ‘Denzil’.

Give it a go and I guarantee you will enjoy it, you will be saying Plonker in no time too. :-)

Cast: David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Roger Lloyd-Pack, Buster Merryfield, John Challis, and Kenneth MacDonald

Plot: Classic comedy following the misadventures of two Wheeler Dealer brothers Del Boy and Rodney Trotter who scrape their living by selling dodgy goods believing that next year they will be millionaires. (Source: imdb.com)

At last, finally a sane choice for the number one spot from a Daemon’s TV staff member. It’s also one of the few choices that actually takes hindsight into account and chooses a show that has stood the test of time.

Of course all the choices are personal, and i don’t mean to try to belittle any of the choices that were made, but more classics should have made it into the list.

I am happy that somebody else has recognised a true old school great. I agree a number one should be one that has kept people entertained for years, like you said ‘stood the test of time’. I can still watch them now and laugh :-)

    Thanks for the comment
