Finally we are moving on, six filmmakers had to shoot a comedy short film in five days on the new episode of ON THE LOT. Unfortunately, the videos of the films are not up yet, so I’ll add the links as soon as I can.
Update: I added the links to the videos of each short so you can decide for yourself.
One director eliminated tonight:

Jess Brillhart was eliminated tonight. Not my favorite, I guess it was a good choice.
Is anybody getting tired of them changing the format of the show? I understand why they had to tell the contestants who was eliminated before this week, but it just gets so confusing.
Moving on to the filmmakers that showed their films tonight. Here are my thoughts on the films presented and who my favorite directors are:
Dr. In-Law by Shalini Kantayya – A man takes his father in-law to the doctor.
This is one of the first films from Shalini that I actually enjoy. Not the funniest thing I have ever seen, but definitely enjoyable.
Watch Dr. In-Law.
Discovering The Weels by Adam Stein – What happens when cavemen find a Mustang?
It was ok. I didn’t think it was hilarious. Good enough to move on next week? Yes.
Watch Discovering The Wheels.
Nerve Endings by Will Bigham – A surgeon plays with his patient’s brain.
Ok, I know it’s sort of wrong to find this funny, but this short was funny. We all know Will has had a soft spot in my heart since the beginning so it’s no wonder that I enjoyed his film again this week. It was more daring than his previous films too.
Watch Nerve Endings.
Under The Gun by Hilary Weisman Graham – A hold up at a sperm bank.
I know the judges liked this one, but I didn’t. It wasn’t funny at all, I didn’t get it. I haven’t really liked her films from the beginning, and with this film I think she should go home this week.
Watch Under The Gun.
How To Have A Girl by David May – A couple tries to make sure they conceive a girl, or is it a boy?
Not really my cup of tea. I had a hard time understanding what was happening. Not his best tonight.
Watch How To Have A Girl.
Die Hardly Working by Zach Lipovsky – Ever been bored at work?
Zach my man! I mean there are no words. This guy needs to win the competition. He didn’t even use visual effects… Everyone could relate to the subject of being bored at work (I know I do).
Watch Die Hardly Working.
My favorite contestant tonight was:
Zach Lipovsky
The contestant I would send home tonight is:
Hilary Weisman Graham
